La Secretaria de Seguridad hondureña comunicó que miembros del Consejo Nacional de Defensa y Seguridad viajaron a los Estados Unidos para mantener una reunión con el Comando Sur de seguimiento a la prevención del narcotráfico. Durante la reunión se revisaron las acciones coordinadas que realizan Honduras y Estados Unidos. Previamente se habían reunido los presidentes de ambos países, asegurando la Secretaria que como resultado se había establecido que el narcotráfico y el crimen organizado son problemas que afectan tanto a Centroamérica, como a los países productores, de tránsito y consumidores de la droga.

This week U.S. Department of Defense officials announced that Kurdish fighters and U.S. airstrikes had broken the Islamic State’s siege of Mount Sinjar, allowing for thousands of Yazidis to evacuate. Meanwhile, in response to I.S.’s advances on Erbil, the U.S. and several European nations pledged to supply arms to Kurdish forces. President Obama suggested that U.S. airstrikes will continue over the next few weeks to months, but that the U.S. has ruled out reintroducing forces into ground combat in Iraq.
